Mount Vic Flicks

Nestled in the heritage-listed town of Mount Victoria, one of the highest points in the Blue Mountains, Mount Vic Flicks is a cherished icon of the Upper Blue Mountains. Originally built in 1934, this historic cinema offers a nostalgic glimpse into the golden era of Australian country picture theatres. First known as Mount Victoria Pictures, the cinema operated until the late 1950s. After decades of closure, it was revived in 1986 by Ron and Diane Bayley, who re-established it as Mount Vic Flicks, bringing new life to this historic venue.

The family-run, independent cinema presents an eclectic selection of films, from Australian and international features to arthouse, classics, and kid-friendly movies. As a proud participant in HD broadcasts of the National Theatre Live and MET Opera series, they also host various film festivals, special events, and fundraisers throughout the year. For those who love vintage cinema, Mount Vic Flicks offer regular classic film screenings accompanied by live performances from the resident theatre organist, Wendy Hambly—check out the session times for details.

The snack bar serves homemade choc tops, popcorn, baked treats, and hot soup during the cooler months, alongside a selection of locally produced wines, beer, and cider.
